Privacy
UV Warden has no accounts and collects no personal data. Analytics is optional and off until you allow it.
Cookies and analytics
UV Warden sets no cookies of its own. The only things always stored are Cookie Munch’s: one cookie that remembers your choice, and an entry in your browser’s session storage that reports the names of the cookies on this site, at most once per visit. Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows which pages are useful, is optional: it stays off until you choose to allow “Statistics” in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Category | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CookieMunch | Cookie Munch | Remembers your cookie choice. | Necessary | 12 months |
| __fc_observed | Cookie Munch | Reports the names of the cookies on this site, at most once per visit (session storage). | Necessary | Session |
| _ga | Tells Google Analytics apart one visitor from another. | Statistics | 2 years | |
| _ga_<ID> | Keeps Google Analytics session state. | Statistics | 2 years |
Google Analytics may receive your IP address and basic browser details when you allow Statistics. You can also block it with your browser’s privacy settings or an extension.
ZIP codes and cities you search
When you search, your ZIP code or city is used by our server to fetch the UV forecast from the public EPA service. We do not store searches or link them to you.
Your data rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, using the privacy rights form. UV Warden keeps no accounts and no list of visitors, so for most people the answer is that there is nothing beyond the analytics record described above.
Consent provider
Your cookie choice is handled by Cookie Munch (cookiemunch.net), which records the choice you make in the banner.
Fonts and hosting
